BLUE HAIR HAS GOT TO BE at least seventy-five years old. No one is really sure. It is speculated that he was brought on board at ACA to lend an air of respectability to the firm. Though he is senile, Winston thinks that the office needs "a little more gray hair." Over time, however, Blue Hair's gray hair became blue due to some botched dye job. |
NAMES ARE PROBLEMATIC at Blue's age, so he's often calling Carl "Chuck," or Jack "Jamie." Poor Carl, Blue's endentured servant, has basically accepted the fact that during the workday his name is Chuck. Most of the time Carl is working away right in his cubicle, but Old Blue has trouble finding it, and many times he ends up in an empty cubicle muttering: "Where's Chuck?" |
BLUE IS VERY NEAT AND TIDY to the point of frightening absurdity. He has fashioned his cubicle into a café, and he cooks full-scale vegetarian meals in the office kitchen for lunch. Blue has never been seen without a red and white checkered towel over his shoulder. |
BEING SINGLE AT BLUE'S AGE might be viewed as a detriment, but he likes being single especially with all the young guys in the office talking about all their dates. He wants to be "one of the guys," so he weaves tales of fast cars and fast women, whom he claims to encounter at Club Dada, a hangout for underage drinkers. Actually, Blue is gay. |
